 ABOUT MAYA

As a documentary photographer, I’m an observer and storyteller. It is my compassion however for the human spirit, natural emotion, relationships and LOVE that draws me to capture life’s moments for my clients.

No matter the event, where it be your wedding, social or corporate gathering, I marvel at the joy of capturing how you will both envision and experience it all. I hope to have the opportunity to provide you with an impeccable experience and to document your memories for you.

Throughout my fifteen year journey as an event photographer, I have learned that to be a true documentary photographer, I must invest my time into listening and learning about you and the experiences you want to have and create for others. In doing so, when you are living your moments, events and celebrations, I know that I am capturing and telling your story through your experience. I believe that empathy and intuition is what allows me to capture imagery the way I do.

With 15+ years of experience, Maya splits her time between Los Angeles and New York, in addition to her destination work in Israel. With the unique ability to work on both coasts, paired with a warm and personable, intuitive energy, Maya is recognized by clients, planners and media across the country as one of the best in the business.

Her passion for the camera began in high school. Earning her a BFA with a concentration in photography from Alfred University, she booked her first event six months after graduation and her first wedding at 23 years old. Since then, Maya’s images have been published in outlets including The Los Angeles Times Magazine, The New York Times Style section, Newsweek, The Huffington Post, Inside Weddings, Grace Ormonde, Modern Luxury Brides, Brides Magazine, InStyle Magazine, SELF Magazine, LA Weekly, NBC News, MSN, W, LA Weekly, Destination I Do Magazine, The Knot, Style Me Pretty, The Hollywood Reporter, and many more.
